Ayanda Dayi, 34, has made a court appearance facing charges including murder, attempted murder, and robbery with aggravating circumstances. Dayi is among the individuals arrested in connection with the robbery of a Sasko Bread delivery van, during which two workers tragically lost their lives.
The incident, which occurred in Delft in May, involved an ambush on the delivery van, resulting in fatal injuries to two of the three occupants. Dayi himself was hospitalized following an attack by community members who accused him of involvement in the robbery.
Authorities have linked Dayi to the violent attack through evidence, including dashcam footage shared widely on social media. Sasko, the bread manufacturer affected by the incident, has expressed commitment to collaborating with law enforcement and the judicial system to ensure justice is served.
While Dayi has been brought before the court, police continue their efforts to locate and apprehend the other suspects believed to be involved in the armed robbery. The case underscores ongoing concerns about violent crime and highlights efforts by both the community and law enforcement to address such incidents.
