Huawei AI powered Pangu Model series with accurate weather prediction

Chinese smartphone maker Huawei introduced Pangu Model 3.0 and Ascend AI cloud services as part of its effort to invest in AI (Artificial Intelligence).
In introducing new industry opportunities which contribute towards AI, Huawei’s Executive Director and CEO of Huawei Cloud Zhang Ping said the move was to introduce new industry technological advancements driven by the AI wave.
The introduction of the AI system addition means a new system of pre-trained models that can adapt to meet specific user needs while addressing complex challenges.
Weather forecasting
Pangu Model 3. o is set to revolutionize the industry with its ability to forecast weather.
Introducing Pangu Weather, which is expected to predict weather using AI.
It is the first AI prediction model to demonstrate more precision than traditional numerical weather forecast methods.
Think lightning-fast speed to get a weather prediction that is more precise.
This model will exceptionally demonstrate how to predict the landing times of typhoons.
On the cards
Huawei is set to launch the first version of Pangu Mining on July 18 which will be to enhance safety efficiency and productivity in mining.
Huawei says: “Traditional mining operations are inherently risky, requiring extensive manpower and posing significant technical and safety challenges. However, with the implementation of digital technologies, augmented by the Pangu Mining Model, the industry is witnessing a transformative shift.
Huawei’s Pangu Mining Model incorporates AI-based intelligent monitoring system that identifies exceptions in the transportation system, such as large coal blocks and anchors, with an exceptional accuracy rate of up to 98%.
The railway industry today benefits immensely from Huawei’s AI advancements as the safety and efficiency of fright trains are improved to find and identify faults in any process.
The model will be able to identify 67 types of freight cars with over 430 types of faults found on railways and freight cars in order to allow train inspectors to improve efficiency and accuracy.
The model will scan millions of images captured by the railway model system and filter out 95% of the images that were found faulty.
Zhang said: “Huawei Cloud Pangu models will empower everyone from every industry with an intelligent assistant, making them more productive and efficient. We will uphold our mission of “AI for industries”, and use Pangu models to reshape all industries with AI.”

Let’s take it back to the beginning. One UI was Samsung’s suite answer for customizations on Android.
Think of features like gallery and camera app small tweaks. Software updates on features such as updated widgets and other micro changes that collectively signal improved performance and aesthetics.
Samsung introduced One UI in 2018 followed by One UI 1 which basically was Android 9. This was followed by One UI 2 based on Android 10.
Fast forward to 2023 and we have One UI 5 based on Android 13 with the latest being One UI 5.1, a minor update based on Android 13.
The minor update is available on the Galaxy S22, S21 series, and more.
Devices that currently have access to One UI 5 are Galaxy S22 (Released), Galaxy S22+ (Released), Galaxy S22 Ultra (Released), Galaxy S21 (Released), Galaxy S21+ (Released), Galaxy S21 Ultra (Released), Galaxy S21 FE (Released), Galaxy S20 (Released), Galaxy S20+ (Released), Galaxy S20 Ultra (Released).
One UI 6 rollout?
Part of the One UI 5.1 update was the improvement of in-app features such as the ability to recognize faces in photos, with a prompt to share albums with people in your pictures. The ability to detect objects inside photos was also courtesy of One UI 5 and 5.1. The information you can access in a photo when you swipe up on a photo to access information about the photo in your gallery and see the location of the photo. That’s One UI 5 and 5.1.
Sources indicate that One UI 6 will be rolled out soon come the end of July, should things go according to plan.
One UI 6 would basically be based on Android 14 as previously stated.
One UI 6 is expected to bring an end to lock screen widgets which have been an issue for some time.
Based on Android 14, One UI 6 will introduce polished lock screen customizations which Samsung has been working on since earlier this year.
The ability to control widget transparency would be a bonus, but we can pretty much predict that the refined version of One UI brings new and efficiently compatible widgets which also allow users to stack multiple widgets in one area to save space.
