A whale carcass has been removed, this time from Kommetjie beach, after having washed up on Christmas Day.
The five metre long creature is the second whale to have washed up onto one of the Cape’s beach fronts.
Earlier this week, a bigger whale carcass measuring up to 13 metres long, was removed from Strand beach.
The City of Cape Town’s Richard Bosman says a clean-up process is now underway in Kommetjie where the body had been.
“The whale at Kommitjie has been taken to the same place where the first whale is placed.”
