Simphiwe Ngema, who plays Thuli on SABC2’s Muvhango, has stopped shooting for the soapie. This comes after the actress reportedly had “serious disagreements” with the soapie’s bosses.
Sources told the paper that paper that the actress discovered that her character, Thuli, was being discussed as “useless” in the storyline.
“Thuli is no longer shooting with Muvhango. But she’ll still go on appearing on the screen until her episodes run out. Right now she is on the road doing auditions, trying to get a job. It’s just so sad that producers have killed her off,” a source told Sunday Sun.
When called for comment, Simphiwe referred Sunday Sun to Muvhango publicist, Amanda Ngudle, who confirmed that the actress had stopped shooting due to the reconstruction of her storyline.
“She won’t shoot with production for the whole season… She stopped shooting with prodcution two weeks ago and will be appearing until March next year.”
Amanda dismissed rumours about Simphiwe fighting with producers.
