SULTRY TV personality Minnie Dlamini allegedly showed the middle finger to SABC sports bosses at the Durban July last week.
Sunday Sun can reveal that the Soccer Zone presenter showed her diva tendencies when she allegedly went AWOL and left them fuming.
Insiders at the public broadcaster alleges that Minnie was assigned to be the face of the SABC Sport brand activation appearances on Friday – a day before the famous horse race.
She was supposed to tour malls in Durban promoting the brand, but disappeared.
An SABC source said: “Minnie was flown down to Durban by SABC Sport and she was tasked to do brand activation.
“But on Friday she switched off her phones! It was frustrating for the team. She did a disappearing act when she was supposed to appear at the Pavillion Mall. Nobody could get hold of her.”
Another mole revealed that before she disappeared, Minnie demanded a new stylist and a new dress.
“All hell broke loose when her demands were not met and she threw tantrums. The SABC Sport general manager, Keletso Totlhanyo, tried to get hold of Minnie many times, but she was nowhere to be found,” said the source.
It’s understood Minnie was hanging out with other celebrities. Sunday Sun has also learnt that Minnie’s drama didn’t end in Durban.
It carried on in Jozi, where she had an argument with an SABC producer known as Themba.
“On Monday, Minnie had a screaming match with Themba when they were busy preparing for Soccer Zone. She didn’t even have a laptop, and that’s required by the show. She’s just being dramatic because she represented Mzansi well at the BET awards.”
Yesterday, Minnie and her new manager, Jarred Doyle’s phones rang unanswered. She didn’t return our messages or calls at the time of going to print.
SABC spokesman, Kaizer Kganyago, asked the People’s Paper to send him an SMS, but did not respond to it.
