BMW has unveiled its new BMW M2 Coupe – a high-performance sports car that delivers optimum “agility and control”.

The M2 Coupe features a 6-cylinder in-line engine, rear-wheel drive, and M Sport suspension and styling.

The car is scheduled to go on sale in South Africa in April 2016, with local pricing to be confirmed closer to the time. International reports state the M2 will go for £44,070 (R890,000) when it launches.

Its 6-cylinder engine, 3 litres in size, gets a power boost from M TwinPower Turbo technology – pushing out 272kW (364hp).

Fuel consumption sits at a combined figure of 8.5l/100km, while the torque output reaches the 465Nm mark.

How fast does it go? 0-100km/h is done in 4.3 seconds, while the top speed is limited to 250km/h.
